NOTD: Pumpkins and Skulls

Last night, I wanted to create a candy corn gradient nail polish picture tutorial but it didn't turn out so well. The technique or the sponge I was using was just destroying the white base polish I had. I'm going to have to do so more trial and error hopefully before Halloween comes. So instead of leaving my nails bare, I decided to do some "stamping" of pumpkins and skull. I can't remember when I first found out about Konad and Bundle Monster stamping kits. I would say it was last year or longer than that. I love being able to create different nail art designs very easily.

For my nails I used:

Orly Top 2 Bottom Basecoat and Topcoat All-in-one
Circus by Adrea' s Choice in Spectacle
Sinful Colors in Black On Black
Bundle Monster plates in BM-211, BM-222, and BM-224

Nothing impressive but I just wanted to share this with you! :)
What nail art are you planning to do for Halloween?

Blood Drip: Halloween Nails

Halloween is just around the corner and if you're not into makeup or getting dressed up, you can always decorate your nails accordingly. Nail art has been all the rage for awhile now. I don't remember when I started seeing it just about everywhere but I would say it has picked up within the last year or more. I've always been into nail art since I was a young teenager. I would go to the salon and get my nails done with a full set, air brush, or sometimes nail art. I would pick 3 colors and tell the stylist to do whatever design they wanted to create. But I stopped going to the salon because it was just damaging my nails.

For this nail art I used 5 things:

I used two coats of Black on Black. I used a toothpick to dot the Framed in Red and dragged the polish down to my tips and did sort of a french tip so that they looked like they were dripping down from the tips to the cuticles.

FYI: I did this semi in the dark because I didn't want to wake up the kiddies. Gotta stop doing late night manis.

I bet this would look great with white nails. I think I might try that sometime this month.

Have you tried or are planning to try any Halloween nail art?

Ombre Glitter

I finally made an attempt at this new nail art craze - Ombre Glitter Nails. The great thing about this trend is that you can more glitter at the tips or at the nail cuticle. Both look really pretty. Some have used real glitter, I chose to use Essie Luxe Effects in Set In Stones which has different sized glitter over Color Club's Insta-This, which a really rich cobalt blue. FYI: This task can be a little tedious, but it will all be worth it in the end. These are the steps, I took to achieve this look:

  1. Remove any old nail polish with remover.
  2. Washed my hands.
  3. Applied Orly Top 2 Bottom Basecoat and Topcoat All-in-one to all my nails and let them dry.
  4. Applied 1 thin layer of Color Club Insta-This on all nails and let dry.
  5. Applied Essie Luxe Effects Set In Stones All over nails and let dry.
  6. Applied Essie Luxe Effects Set In Stones from the middle half down to the tips and let dry.
  7. Applied Essie Luxe Effects Set In Stones on the tips and let dry.
  8. Repeat. Let nails dry.
  9. I reapplied Orly Top 2 Bottom Basecoat and Topcoat All-in-one to all my nails and let them dry.
This is how they came out. A winter wonderland!

FYI: This mani is two days old lol :)

Here are some awesome Ombre Glitter Nails I found online
