URBAN DECAY NAKED BASICS Palette Review and Swatches

I bought the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette the day it launched on Urban Decay's website. This palette is different from its predecessors, Naked and Naked2.

About the size of your cellphone, this matte palette comes with 6 full size eyeshadows at .30 oz for $27. That's $4.50 an eyeshadow. Although, its a matte palette, there is one eyeshadow that is a semi-matte. This is perfect for the eyeshadow lovers who prefer less shimmer, the days when you want to get the 'naked' look or for those who don't like or cannot wear bright eyeshadow.

This is the back of the packaging.

It comes with a sleek and smooth case like the NARS packaging.

Seems like the Naked Basics is half the size of Naked & Naked2. I was surprised to see how tiny it was when I opened the box. I was thinking, there's no way that there are six full size eyeshadows here?!

So tiny. This can fit in your pocket or a clutch.

Here's a look at the Naked Basics palette with flash. Unfortunately, it does not come with a brush. :(
You can always get a travel brush kit to do your makeup on the go.

Here's a look at the palette with natural light.

Venus (soft, off-white demi-matte)
 Foxy (cream bisque matte)
Walk of Shame (very light nude matte)
Naked2 (taupe matte)
Faint (warm, dusty brown matte)
 Crave (deepest, darkest brown/black matte)
Naked2 and Walk of Shame are repeat colors. The other 4 are totally new.

I'm just in love with this palette. The eyeshadows go on like silk and last all day. I really wish Foxy was a different color, maybe darker. I can hardly see it on my skin. I'll probably just use it as a base. The color payoff on the other 5 shadows are amazing. I receieved lots of compliments from my co-workers and did a few makeovers. This something they definitely want to purchase as well.

What are your thoughts? Are you planning on purchasing this palette or waiting for Santa to put it under your Christmas tree?

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

Love the Naked Palettes, but wish they weren't so sparkly and shimmery? Well, Urban Decay has finally made your wish come true!

Six FULL size matte eyeshadows composed of neutrals all for $27. That's $4.50 each which is a great value. Two of the shades are repeats and the other four are entirely new.

Venus (soft, off-white demi-matte), Foxy (cream bisque matte), Walk of Shame (very light nude matte), Naked2 (taupe matte), Faint (warm, dusty brown matte) and Crave (deepest, darkest brown/black matte)

Urban Decay says that Venus is a demi-matte shade and is the perfect highlighting shade. You can wear these shades alone or together to create the perfect neutral smokey eye. Urban Decay also claims that this palette offers insane color payoff.

I purchased it this morning and cannot wait to try it out. I am a little upset at the shipping charge - $8.00. I think that may be a little too steep to charge customers. I thought, it was going to be about $5.00 or so. I really didn't want to spend more money to get the free shipping since nothing else caught my attention.  A mystery deluxe product was added to my cart automatically. I can't wait to see what that will be!

This palette is only availabe on Urban Decay. Starting in February, it will be available at other stores.

So, are you planning on buying this palette or waiting to find it under the Christmas tree?

First Face Of The Day

I'm pretty new to blogging and I hope to include more FOTD posts here and there. FYI: I need to get my brows done so please pay them no mind lol.

First, I prepped my face with Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional. Then I applied Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Tinted Moisturizer in light to medium all over my face. I then used Urban Decay Naked on my eyes. I applied the shades: Virgin, Smog mixed with Darkhorse & Gunmetal. I applied one coat of Maybelline Great Lash Lots Of Lashes Mascara in Blackest Black. I swiped a bit of mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder to contour under my cheeks, forehead and nose. Then I swiped mark Just Blushing Powder Blush in After Glow (alternative to NARS Orgasm) on the apples on my cheeks. I also used mark Kabuki Brush to blend the blush and the bronzer together so there wouldn't be any harsh lines. I finished off the look with mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Whiney.
I wish I would've taken more pictures but I was in a rush to take the little ones to school.
Hopefully, there will be more FOTD posts to come.
