How to: Mermaid Hair

Amanda Seyfried

At the SAG awards show, almost every female celebrity was sporting Mermaid Hair. Now, this is not the same as beach waves. Mermaid hair has big defined waves. The great thing is that its very easy to achieve and gives you that old Hollywood glamour look.

1. Wash your hair and towel dry so that its damp and not wet. (obviously)

2. You're going to want to use a product in your hair that will help you achieve curls like Bumble & Bumble curl conscious holding foam. It helps to hold and keep your curls structured.

3. Comb your hair to distribute the product evenly from roots to tips.

4. Then you're going to clip your hair in sections and curl your hair starting from the bottom up with a curling iron

5. Once you have curled all your hair with the curling iron, you then use a large flat paddle brush like the John Frieda Sleek Finish Hair Brush to brush your hair which will then turn the curls into waves.

6. Spritz your hair with your fave hairspray to hold your style well into the night.

You can wear this hairstyle for any occasion whether its a gala or a casual night out.
