I bought the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette the day it launched on Urban Decay's website. This palette is different from its predecessors, Naked and Naked2.
About the size of your cellphone, this matte palette comes with 6 full size eyeshadows at .30 oz for $27. That's $4.50 an eyeshadow. Although, its a matte palette, there is one eyeshadow that is a semi-matte. This is perfect for the eyeshadow lovers who prefer less shimmer, the days when you want to get the 'naked' look or for those who don't like or cannot wear bright eyeshadow.
This is the back of the packaging.
It comes with a sleek and smooth case like the NARS packaging.
Seems like the Naked Basics is half the size of Naked & Naked2. I was surprised to see how tiny it was when I opened the box. I was thinking, there's no way that there are six full size eyeshadows here?!
So tiny. This can fit in your pocket or a clutch.
Here's a look at the Naked Basics palette with flash. Unfortunately, it does not come with a brush. :(
You can always get a travel brush kit to do your makeup on the go.
Here's a look at the palette with natural light.
Venus (soft, off-white demi-matte)
Foxy (cream bisque matte)
Walk of Shame (very light nude matte)
Naked2 (taupe matte)
Faint (warm, dusty brown matte)
Crave (deepest, darkest brown/black matte)
Foxy (cream bisque matte)
Walk of Shame (very light nude matte)
Naked2 (taupe matte)
Faint (warm, dusty brown matte)
Crave (deepest, darkest brown/black matte)
Naked2 and Walk of Shame are repeat colors. The other 4 are totally new.
I'm just in love with this palette. The eyeshadows go on like silk and last all day. I really wish Foxy was a different color, maybe darker. I can hardly see it on my skin. I'll probably just use it as a base. The color payoff on the other 5 shadows are amazing. I receieved lots of compliments from my co-workers and did a few makeovers. This something they definitely want to purchase as well.
What are your thoughts? Are you planning on purchasing this palette or waiting for Santa to put it under your Christmas tree?
xo, Sabrina
